Food Security

Food Security

Around a billion people face malnutrition around the world. Humanity First is enabling farmers in low income regions to optimise crop yields to invest in their own communities. Humanity First also runs food banks in Europe and North America for people at most risk in major cities. Our trained teams are dedicated to educating and in reducing malnutrition in our world. Every year, our Food Security programme assists over a quarter of a million people. Humanity First is dedicated in educating communities about healthy choices, but also sharing means in which a community can self-sustain itself.

We assist farming communities in developing nations to move from subsistence to commercial farming. We provide solutions to increase crop yields, reduce wastage and technology to help turn raw crops into higher value food products. Our mission is to aid communities to be economically sustainable to fight against hunger. The impact is larger if the positive effects are long term.

We believe in taking care of all walks of life, whether those with disabilities or the elderly who lack support.
Our community care programme aims to support the most vulnerable in society with with outreach services, food, hygiene packs, support groups, social events and additional resources that match their specific needs.

Impact

Over 44 million people in the United States–including 13 million children–experience hunger and food insecurity.

To beat hunger, Humanity First currently runs eight food pantries and soup kitchens across the country, organizes food drives, and partners with other organizations who are also fighting to eradicate hunger. And when natural disasters happen, we provide emergency food and water supplies. In other words, Humanity First is on the front lines, delivering millions of meals to the hungry.

Food Banks

Families count on food staples from HFUSA pantries and food delivery services to stretch their limited dollars. With the help of partners and local community drives, we also provide fresh produce, personal care products, and back to school supplies.

Qurbani Service

Humanity First helps to facilitate the Qurbani (Animal Sacrifice) Service before Eid Ul Adha. Eating beef or lamb for this holiday is culturally significant and nutritionally important. For Muslims, Qurbani is also a way to use part of their wealth to feed people who cannot afford a substantial meal for the holiday.

Food Distribution During Disaster

Access to food and water is always critical to survival. So when disaster hits, Humanity First sources, prepares, and delivers food when people need it most.
