Global Health Programme: Asih Sasama Clinic

In the Yogyakarta region of Indonesia on the island of Java, Humanity First runs the Asih
Sasama medical clinic in Ngloro. This is in an area where more than 50% of the population
live below the poverty line, and the nearest government hospital is 30km away. The clinic
offers low cost services to patients covering a range of disciplines including Ophthalmology,
maternity, immunisation and general medicine. The clinic serves more than 4,000 patients
every year.
Humanity First team also do home visits to nearby villages for patients that struggle to travel to the
clinic, and have also supported many local natural disasters in the region including in
Sulawesi, Sumatra and Lombok.
