Mobile Eye Surgery In Benin & Togo

In 2017, the team in Germany had a mobile eye surgery unit (the Al-Ain unit) built and then
in 2018 it was deployed in Benin. The unit has state of the art diagnostic and surgical
equipment to treat cataracts. In 2018, the unit treated 4,333 patients, and since then is
being used not just in Benin, but also across the border in neighbouring Togo.
