Since 2005, Humanity First established the Masroor Senior Secondary School in Yundum, in
The Gambia. The school has continued to expand and now supports over 1200 students,
with equal access for girls and boys. This year, a new assembly hall has been built, the
largest in the country. The performance of the school has been stunning, being in the top
four in the country in the early years, but in the last couple of years, the school has been in
the top two.
HF also set up an IT training institute in Latrikunda a decade ago. Over 36,000 students have
graduated with certificates and diplomas from the centre, and in many civil service
departments, they now mandate a HF qualification. There are other training facilities in the
country, but HF caters for the lower income students who would struggle to afford
qualifications without this opportunity.
